A human’s emotions can be visceral and chaotic yet also logical and within reasons.

That is exactly what artist Todd Williamson manages to capture in his paintings. He uses near-monochromatic compositions created by removing layers of oil and leaving distinct frameworks of grid-like lines. These lines become the framework from which the audience views the stories. The rigid lines surrounded by chaotic color compositions reflect the inner turmoil within the artist. His works make subtle references to Rothko, Frankenthaler, and Still while taking inspirations from the likes of Gerhard Richter, Ross Bleckner, and Sean Scully. His works have also been compared to those by Kandinsky and Paladino.

Williamson’s latest works take inspiration from the chaotic political climate we all find ourselves in. What is the state of our emotions when it is bombarded by a non-stop news cycle through social media? Those emotions are delicately captured within the artist’s works, exploding with emotions. The results are a beautiful, yet agonizing look into the human psyche. They capture the fervor of the person through the use of explosive colors and space.

The artist has created 6 new pieces, available exclusively to Europe.
